There are two meetings co-located with ISESE; the three meetings form ESEIW (Empirical Software Engineering, International Week):
16-17 August - ISERN (International Software Engineering Research Network) Annual Meeting. ISERN is a community that believes software engineering research needs to be performed in an experimental context. Observation and experimentation are the major technologies in use, understanding the weaknesses and strengths, tailoring the technologies for the goals and characteristics of particular projects and packaging them with empirically gained experience to enhance their reuse potential in future projects are the major methods employed. The founding ISERN members chose the Quality Improvement Paradigm as the reference model to provide a common terminology for their cooperation.
There is no cost for membership in ISERN, but there is a requirement that you must cooperate with fellow ISERN members on projects of mutual interest. If you are interested in the goals of ISERN and would like to attend the ISERN meeting as an observer (the first step in joining ISERN), contact Professor Dieter Rombach.
18
August - IASESE
(International Advanced School of Empirical Software
Engineering).
The goal of
IASESE is to provide attendees with the opportunity to learn and practice
advanced empirical software engineering techniques from leaders in the
empirical software engineering community.
